KEVIN GODINEZ
GILROY
We celebrate our students' talent, leadership and dedication
Kevin Godinez is a 10 year old trumpet student from our Gilroy location. He is a 5th grader in Las Animas Elementary school and has been playing trumpet in our academy since May. He chose the trumpet because he loves the live beautiful sound the trumpet brings to the mariachi. In his spare time he likes to play basketball, soccer, sing and play his trumpet. Kevin is also a part of a church choir at St. Mary’s Church in Gilroy. Once graduated from college he wishes to be a dentist and a music teacher. In the short time that we have known Kevin, he has shown to the academy and the rest of the world his motivation and determination to become a better musician.

Geraldine is a graduate from GECA and is currently studing for her Bachelors Degree in Business. Geraldine constantly volunteers at the academy and loves helping the kids with their music. "Playing the violin is like learning a new language, that's what I love the most about the violin."

JAMES OLVERA
GILROY
We celebrate our students' talent, leadership and dedication
James "Jimmy" Olvera is our twelve year-old guitar student in our academy. He is a seventh grader at Solorsano Elementary School where he plays trumpet with the school band. Jimmy has been playing guitar now for six years and is currently taking private lessons to improve his skills. Jimmy’s hope is to one day be able to play all the mariachi instruments. He likes to play baseball in his free time and his role model is baseball player Buster Posey. Jimmy was recently awarded a West Music Guitar by Maestro Jose Hernandez. We congratulate Jimmy on his achievements!
