Victor Rosales

Trumpet Teacher

My name is Victor Singh, being introduced to mariachi in Luther Burbank elementary school when I was in 5th grade has taught me to be an exceptional player at such a young age. I chose the trumpet as my primary instrument because it is a roaring, powerful and charming instrument. In high school I explored different types of music other than Mariachi, such as Jazz, and have played in Symphonic Band which is known for their Classical music. I performed Mariachi throughout all 4 years of high school and am currently going to West Valley Community College. But later i’ll be transferring to San Jose State to receive my bachelors in music, which happens to be my main goal for now. I am the first generation musician from both sides of my family. Currently, I am working with Mariachi Azteca where we play at Tacos al Carbon on Saturday and Sunday nights. My devotion to music is very present and strong. I adore music for its refinement and the emotions it can bring upon people. I’m eager to not only teach my students but turn them into the musicians they can become.

Jorge Rodriguez

Trumpet/Voice Teacher

Co-Founder

At the age of eight, I began as a trumpet player at Clyde Miller’s Elementary School Band in San Jose. My love and passion for Mariachi didn’t start until the age of eighteen. I am the only musician from both sides of my family. I enjoy the mariachi music of Javier Solis, Pedro Infante, Antonio Aguilar, Vicente Fernandez, Mariachi Vargas, Sol De Mexico, Camperos, and Mariachi de America. I like listening to Classical, Rock, and of course Mariachi!! Although my main instrument is trumpet, I also know how to play piano as well.

Rigoberto Campos

Guitar/Vihuela Teacher

A 1st generation musician in my Family. I was first introduced to Mariachi music in the 6th grade at the Lee Mathson middle school after school Mariachi Program where I learned how to play the guitar. Shortly after I participated in the San Jose Mariachi Festivals annually as a workshop student and eventually as a performer with San Jose's Mariachi Azteca where I got to see many headliner Mariachis such as Mariachi Cobre, Mariachi Sol de Mexico, Mariachi Vargas and Mariachi Juvenil Guadalajara. It was then that my passion for mariachi music developed. I learned the music and style from different instructors and developed my own way to play my instrument. At the age of 16 I was hired by the Mexican Heritage Plaza where I taught guitar classes for 3 years and fell in love with the art of teaching music. I took a break for a few years to pursue my career in Real Estate and as of 2015 I revisited my passion for teaching Guitar and Vihuela to students of all ages.

Rene Lambert

Guitar/Vihuela Teacher

René Lambert was born into a family of Mariachi musicians. He was raised in both the folk traditions of Mexico as well as in the Classical music tradition.  In his youth he studied the Cello and the guitar and through his High School years he was a member of the Monterey Youth Symphony as well as The Chamber Orchestra of SMS of San Francisco and The California Youth Symphony respectively, as a cellist.  It was also during those years; he studied vocal and choral music and developed an interest for music composition. In the summer of his senior year, he was accepted and attended the Walden School for Music Composition in New Hampshire. As a college student he has studied music theory and composition at West Valley College and most notably, under instruction of Dr. Cornejo, renowned visiting professor of music composition from USC.

René is passionate about music, particularly the Mariachi music of his heritage. He began to play the vihuela at the age of 15, practicing many hours a day and taking advantage of the tutelage of some of his parents’ top colleagues in the Mariachi field. He began playing professionally at age 17 and has been the main “Vihuelista” for both his family’s Mariachi Santa Cecilia and most currently, Mariachi California de Javier Vargas. For the past two years, he has attended the largest Mariachi Festival in the U.S. in Albuquerque New Mexico.  René is passionate about learning as well as teaching and brings his wealth of experience to that arena.
